During Writing today, Mika, Alice, Maddy, Jack and Sophie thought of some interesting words to include in their personal writing. Some of these words were:
hefty, fabulous, delighted, overjoyed, ecstatic, elated, thrilled, admirable, eerie, flabbergasted, extraordinary, incredible, marvellous, brilliant, satisfying, scrumptious, irresistible.

Maddy's Narrative
Here is Maddy's narrative to read and enjoy.
Old or New House
By Maddy
We were watching TV and Dad came home and said “Do you want the good news or the bad news?” “Bad news” Lily shouted. “Ok, we are going to move house. We have until the end of school to be able to move, so you might want to start packing up,” Dad said. Mum also agreed. Everyone else was complaining. Lily, Isa and Maddy felt upset because they love their house and they don’t want to leave. Charlotte, Mum and Dad wanted to have some land and live in the country.
2 Months later……
The big new storage truck had arrived at our house. All the stuff was packed up, and we had said all our goodbyes. Maddy, Charlotte, Isa and Lily all went out the back of the house and made a hand print out of concrete. All of us decided to leave.
When they had to their new, ten acre, big, cool house they all ran inside to see what it was like. Once they were used to it and had all there furniture in, they started to like there new house. They even thought it was better than their old house. All of them liked school at Yarrambat and C.L.C. They all just had wonderful time.

Mika's Narrative
MSBA have been working on narrative writing during this term. Here is Mika's narrative to read and enjoy!
Sparkboy and the evil weather man
By McKenzie Facchinetti
SparkBoy’s story
“This week a series of tornadoes will hit Oklahoma. But don’t worry; they will only be the worst tornadoes in the history of tornadoes.” I knew they wouldn’t happen. It’s the middle of winter; anyway I’ve known that stupid weather man Mr. Flongg had been up to something for years. I had to find out.
So I got my bike and headed for Channel 48 broadcasting centre. As soon as I walked in, I heard…. “Mr. Anderson, get me some coffee, and make it snappy, we have to get down to the lair.” As soon as I heard them say lair I started following them.
I heard Flongg say “What should we do to shake up the tornado, raining snakes?"
Mr. Flongg’s story
I had a feeling someone was spying on me, that was because a 14 year old year old boy was looking right at me!!!!!
I looked at him, He looked at me, and he said, “Just to make this affective,” and then he snapped his fingers and said “I am SparkBoy” and he zapped me with electricity and knocked me out!
Mr. Anderson’s story…
I was clapping and laughing in joy until Flonggo woke up and hit the tornado button. We all rushed outside and there it was, a real life tornado!!! I was scared, so scared that I didn’t noticed Sparky knocked out Flonggo and well yeah. Sparky and I rushed downstairs and turned the tornado thing off!
2 years later
Life is going pretty well for me. I am Sparky’s new teacher and Flonggy’s in jail!!!!

Dinner!
During Inquiry time today, MSBA and MSBA had a discussion about the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating (The Food Wheel) and the food pyramid. They looked at the different types of foods and how much of each type of food is needed. After this, the children had to design a healthy dinner meal. Some look delicious!

The Baby Elephant
How cute! This picture was inspiration for the first page of our writer's notebook. The picture is called a 'seed' and the children had to complete a thinking activity about the elephant such as a PMI (Plus, Minus, Interesting). Then they could use that information to create a piece of writing about the seed. Over the next few weeks could children please look at home for a seed to paste in their writers notebook. It could be a picture from a magazine or newspaper or something they have experienced such as a movie ticket or brochure about something they have been to.
